The PrintIT Awards 2022 which took place at the Royal Lancaster, London on December 6, brought together 550 of the industry’s OEMs, ISVs, disties, channel vendors and dealers under one roof
After another interesting and challenging year, the third edition of the PrintIT Awards, and the second in-person event, provided a perfect opportunity for friends and colleagues to come together, to catch up, network and celebrate shared successes.
The much-anticipated event kicked off with a sparkling champagne reception in the Nine Kings suite at the Royal Lancaster, where guests mingled, chatted and networked.
Opening the proceedings
Kingswood Media and Tech Events Director Neil Trim opened the event. He referenced current market conditions and acknowledged the working partnership between vendors, resellers, distributors, and service providers asa key factor in this industry’s success. He said: “We are often asked about the future of print within the workplace, and although nobody has a crystal ball as to what trend or work/life incident may befall us, one thing I do know is that this industry and the people in it have shown the resilience required for success.”
PrintIT Reseller Editor Michelle Ryder also welcomed guests. She spoke about the immense effort involved in together the PrintIT Awards event, acknowledging the hard work and determination
from the event organisers and most importantly – the effort everyone put into their award entries.
She said that whilst not all of the finalists would walk away with a PrintIT Award, every one of the companies that made the shortlists had earned the right to celebrate. “Congratulations to you all – being shortlisted is a massive achievement and you should all be rightly proud.”
In addition to the PrintIT Awards official photographer, experts
from Canon were also on hand to photograph guests, who could then take home their printed photos as a memento of the night.

The ultimate racing experience
There was also the opportunity to experience the ultimate FI racing experience, on two F1 simulators provided courtesy of Westcoast and Samsung.
Gala dinner and awards show
After a fabulous three-course dinner, the 2022 award winners were revealed. This year’s awards ceremony was hosted by the straight-talking, quick-witted Kerry Godliman. Both an incredibly talented comedian and a phenomenal actor, Kerry is best known for her appearances on Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Taskmaster, Hypothetical, Ultimate Worrier, The Jonathan Ross Show and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
Oh what a night!
The post-awards ceremony entertainment was top notch. We were delighted to welcome back The Souled Out Showband – one of the most renowned names within the industry. The band has performed alongside Jools Holland, The Darkness, Boney M and many more amazing artists over the past 20 years. They played a set of fabulous music, and the dance floor was packed.
There were ten bottles of champagne up for grabs, courtesy of PaperCut. Golden tickets were hidden in balloons which guests eagerly popped to see if they were a lucky winner.
The celebrations carried on into the wee small hours with guests retiring upstairs to the bar to enjoy a fabulous after party sponsored by Westcoast and Samsung.
Shining a light on excellence
When we launched the first dedicated awards programme for the UK print and IT channel in 2020, our overriding goal was to celebrate the achievements of the vendors, distributors, service providers, resellers and individuals, who work within our vital, dynamic and ever- changing industry.
The PrintIT Awards shine a light on those who have shown true excellence in leadership, commitment and determination over the past 12 months, and recognise the momentous contributions you make to your customers, colleagues and the wider sector every day. And those achievements are significant.
This year we had an incremental increase in both the number of entries we received, as well as the quality and calibre of the submissions. We were delighted that so many of you took the time to submit an entry, determining the finalists was not an easy task and the bar is set high for 2023!
A big thank you to our handpicked panel of judges – Ian Birch, Managing Director, Intelligent Business Consulting; Eric Crump, Director of Strategic Alliances, Ringdale; Sofia Dahlqvist, Director, 55 Connect Ltd; Louella Fernandes, Director, Quocirca; Alison Haley, Marketing Specialist, Tangerine Design and PR; Kasia Holthouse, Strategic Account Manager, Reality Labs, Meta; Brendan Perring, General Manager, IPIA; Jeremy Spencer, Founder & CEO, Gaia Together; Julian Stafford, Former Managing Director, Midshire; and David Tulip, Managing Director, Network Group; who had the toughest job of all in determining the award winners.
