Konica Minolta launches Workplace One

Konica Minolta has announced the launch of its new Workplace One cloud-based digital platform, which enables SMB organisations to have their IT infrastructure and business applications hosted on the cloud and managed by Konica Minolta. The platform delivers various other components that are vital to SMBs looking to make this transition. This includes managing and hosting the IT infrastructure in the cloud – i.e., servers, storage, networks and all business applications that are already in use for CRM, ERP, finance, information management, etc.

With the solution, SMBs no longer have to worry about operations, maintenance, user management, licences, updates or security. Remote Desktop Services (RDS) are also included, as well as a daily backup that ensures that their organisation is protected against data loss. Standard multi-factor authentication also prevents unauthorised access to sensitive data.

Workplace One is part of Konica Minolta’s cloud strategy and includes a Microsoft 365 licence for all an organisation’s employees and a collaborative space for communication, collaboration and project work. Employees can also access their business applications and Microsoft 365 applications via a landing page based on SharePoint Online. In addition to this, the site also serves as a collaboration space, offering functions such as intranet, chat, social networking, team sites, project teams, file sharing, a task planner, and a news feed.

The complete package is aimed primarily at small and medium-sized organisations with up to 300 employees, relieving them of a large proportion of their IT tasks and making them ready for digital transformation for a fixed monthly fee.


Helping offices adapt to the new normal

Sharp UK is introducing a range of new technology solutions designed to support the safety of employees upon the return to the office. The new solutions include an updated Optimised Visitor Management system, the Communicate and Collaborate furniture range and the Plasmacluster Air Purifier.

Optimised Visitor Management: The refreshed site-monitoring system from Sharp has been upgraded to help businesses manage their premises and keep employees safe from COVID-19. OVM’s updated software offers sophisticated new features including questioning enhancement, multiple geofencing capabilities, contactless sign in/out options, as well as improved reporting and dashboards, all for compliance and health and safety.

Communicate and Collaborate furniture range: The range consists of three variations of the Collaborate table, the Levitator and Switch 45 digital screen stands, and two new Digital Signage Stands. The three key products can transform any office into a flexible workspace that supports collaboration and teamwork for both onsite and home-working employees.


Plasmacluster Air Purifier: Sharp’s range of air purification and humidification devices create Plasmacluster Ions which are attracted to airborne particles. The particles are then broken down by removing surface proteins, the tiny particles stick together and are drawn into Plasmacluster’s triple filtration system. The filtration system clears any impurities and releases clean water molecules back into the air. The device continues to monitor air quality with its built-in sensors, which can be adjusted to be more or less sensitive.

Through Xerox’s ConnectKey technology, Xerox Workflow Central makes it easy to transform documents seamlessly from any PC, tablet, mobile device or multifunction printer. Both paper and digital documents can be altered instantly from one platform for use consistency, regardless of device. With Microsoft Azure security at every level, transformed documents can confidently be accessed and shared with the knowledge that data and documents are protected through encryption and password protection services.

Xerox Workflow Central is available at various levels through a straightforward subscription model that comes with unlimited users and devices. The starter level provides access to the platform’s core capabilities, while advanced options unlock the ability to combine and create custom workflows, routing to cloud-hosted repositories, or encrypting and tracking of emails and attachments.


Pantum expands product line-up

Pantum continues to channel its efforts into optimising its printer products and services, so as to provide users around the world with more diverse product choices and convenient user experience. The company has launched its fastest model yet – the Elite Series which delivers A4 printing speeds of up to 40 pages per minute.

In addition to the 250-page standard tray and the 60-page multifunction tray, two additional 550-page large-capacity trays will increase the maximum feed capacity to 1,410 pages. The Elite Series is targeted to the needs of a wide range of commercial customers, from SMEs and governments to large institutions, with more convenient features such as one-step driver installation and automatic duplex printing. One-step driver installation can aid in the intelligent identification of printer connection methods such as USB, network, or Wi-Fi connection. Automatic duplex printing allows users to save 50% of their paper usage and reduce 50% of their expenditure.
