Anti-bacterial coating

Benq’s RP Series of interactive flat panel displays feature an anti-bacterial nano-ionic silver screen coating that kills bacteria on touch and is resilient to heavy use and cleaning.

The new 4K models which are available in three sizes – 65in (RP6502), 75in (RP7502) and 86in (RP8602) also include built-in sensors that measure air quality in a room and signal when CO2 levels are too high; smart eye-care technology that protects against blue-light and flicker irritation; EZWrite 5 collaboration software; and an NFC sensor on the front of each panel that allows users to gain access to any display within its network via an ID card or QR code, with users’ personal workspaces and display settings loading instantly.

Vivitek introduces new laser short throw projector

Vivitek has introduced the DU4371Z-ST short throw laser projector. With a screen size of up to 278 inches and a brightness of 5,100 lumens with WUXGA resolution, this new device is easy to use and offers flexible installation thanks to its 360 degree positioning options.

Featuring a 0.5 short throw lens, the projector only needs a distance of two metres from the wall to achieve an impressive image size of 185 inches. At a distance of three metres, it can still deliver a razor sharp projection with a diagonal image of 278 inches.

The integrated DLP DarkChip3 and BrilliantColor technologies ensure a brilliant picture. Combined, these always create optimal black levels and vivid, colourful images with a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000: 1.

Its lamp-free design also ensures maintenance-free operation of up to 20,000 hours.

The projector is shipped from the factory with Crestron RoomView software for network monitoring and management, meaning the device can be controlled and monitored centrally.

Xerox says the Xerox Adaptive CMYK+ Kit for Xerox Versant is the print market’s first adaptive technology kit that adds seven specialty colours to an existing production press, enabling instant digital print enhancements. The kit transforms a four-colour Xerox Versant 180 Press into an 11-colour beyond CMYK press capable of creating a million colour hues and shades by adding gold, silver, white, clear and fluorescent colours of yellow, magenta and cyan.

The Xerox Adaptive CMYK+ Kit for Xerox Versant has three options: the Xerox Vivid Kit (gold, silver, white and clear), Xerox Fluorescent Kit (cyan, magenta and yellow) – or the combination Xerox Vivid + Fluorescent Kit for all 11 colours. The adaptive kit works with EFI DFE versions of the Versant 180 and Versant 180 with Performance Package.

The kit gives print providers the ability to simply swap out toners to print colours and enhancements that increase profitability and deliver higher margins without needing a new press.
