PrintIT Reseller is delighted to announce the signing of Ingram Micro (UK) Ltd as Platinum Sponsor of the PrintIT Awards 2020
The PrintIT Awards 2020 will celebrate the achievements of the UK printer/MFP vendor, supplier and reseller community, with 25 awards in four categories to be presented at a glittering awards ceremony at the Tower Hotel, London on October 8, 2020.
As Platinum sponsor, Ingram Micro branding will feature prominently on all PrintIT Awards 2020 communications and marketing material before, during and after the event. The distributor will open proceedings, present three major awards and, in conjunction with Canon, sponsor prizes throughout the night.
As the headline sponsor, Ingram Micro will be sponsoring three key awards categories: Vendor of the Year, Dealer/Reseller of the Year (Turnover in excess of £5M) and Online Reseller of the Year. The distributor will also be entering some of the awards themselves.
With three tables to fill on the awards evening, one of which is co-sponsored by Canon, Ingram Micro will be inviting key focus customers and vendor partners to join the team and celebrate the successes of this vibrant industry.
Neil Trim, Director of event organisers, Kingswood Tech Events said: “As publishers of the successful channel publications PrintIT Reseller and Technology Reseller , we have felt for a long time that the printer/MFP community deserves its own awards. From discussions with our contacts in the printer/MFP industry, it is clear that many others feel the same way. To have a partner of Ingram Micro’s standing for PrintIT Awards 2020 is a real endorsement of our vision that augurs well for the success of the whole event.”
Commenting on the announcement, Kerrie Spalding, General Manager Print & Supplies said: “Having a dedicated industry awards programme for the printer/MFP industry is long overdue and a great opportunity for us to celebrate our success and best practice in the company of colleagues and industry peers.”
A leader in print
Kerrie admits that Ingram Micro isn’t always the first choice for resellers purchasing print and supplies but, she says her goal is to position the business as a leader in print. “I am very excited that we are headlining these awards – especially in their first year! Our Platinum Partner status provides us with a fantastic opportunity to reinforce our presence in this important sector.”
Ingram Micro has relationships with major printer brands including HP, Canon, Xerox, Kyocera, Epson and Brother and is the only UK distributor to only offer original supplies. “As a distribution partner, our role is to deliver a value add to both our reseller customers and our vendors. As part of that promise, we made a decision to not stock compatibles, that’s a key differentiator for us,” she said.
The Ingram Micro print and supplies division comprises a diverse team with vast experience in this sector. “One of our key strengths is the breadth of experience and knowledge we have in-house, combined with a culture that is centred on building relationships,” Kerrie explained.
With thousands of resellers trading monthly with Ingram Micro, the opportunity for print vendors is huge.
“The size of our trading accounts makes us a strong partner for our vendors and we work hard to provide our reseller customers with a one-stop-shop. They can come to us for any IT solution and enjoy access to our specialist team for print at the same time, which keeps it simple and cost-effective to do business with us,” Kerrie said.
The dedicated team supporting print partners includes a field-based external business development manager, sales specialists, product managers and business managers. Uniquely Ingram Micro also has a Head of Supplies, Kelvin Paterson, who has 30 years’ experience and works alongside Kerrie to drive the supplies business.
As part of the larger group, the print division can tap into a wider pool of resources and expertise. Ingram Micro has the ability to deliver a full wraparound service to resellers, from PDI through to delivery and installation, along with the removal of legacy kit and secure wiping and disposal of hard drives in a secure and compliant manor.
“Our focus as a business for 2020 is firmly on continuing to add value to our reseller partners and provide whole solutions rather than just distribute product. Print is no different to this and will be a core focus offering for us this year. Watch this space for more details!” Kerrie concluded.
