New start-up IBC Group is focused on helping organisations unlock the value of their data through insight, automation and compliance consultancy services
Industry veteran Ian Birch who has 17 years’ experience in IT services, launched the company in January this year. Having worked with a number of OEMs, including Kyocera and Ricoh, and most recently as Head of Digital Transformation at Xerox, he has a strong heritage in bringing assessment and consulting approaches to market as well as delivering successful change projects in large public and private sector organisations.
Speaking to PrintIT Reseller about the move, Birch said that the time was right to go it alone. “My role at Xerox was coming to an end and I saw this as an exciting opportunity to move on and do my own thing. I’m excited to support, guide and help vendors, channel resellers and end clients alike on their digital transformation journeys.”
Birch says that the Managed Print Services industry has seen significant change in recent years with consolidation through acquisitions and mergers a common occurrence across OEM providers, channel partners and consultancy specialists. “IBC Group will fulfil an important role in offering fully independent, vendor-neutral consultancy to businesses, guaranteeing that they have the most appropriate systems in place to drive efficiency and reduce costs,” he said.
Birch sees a real opportunity in helping the channel and their customers to ensure print remains relevant in the digital age. “There is so much change in our industry, my last role was very much focussed on digital disruption and on the relevance of print in the workplace in this new world. I’m eager to be a part of that digital future.”
