Consolidation continues. Norway-based Asolvi is looking to expand its reach within the SMB sector and has acquired two competitive service management software providers. The company has added Vantage Computing’s cloud-based Vantage Online solution and Purpose Software’s 2Serv and CBS solutions to its broadening product suite (page 34). Conversely in a market which has seen the number of OEMs shrinking, this issue we talk to Andrew Ellis who has secured exclusive distribution rights for Sindoh-branded printers and MFPs in the UK and Ireland. Ellis argues this new brand, bestknown for manufacturing on behalf of Konica Minolta, Develop and Olivetti offers channel partners an exclusive opportunity to offer customers an alternative unique brand. “It’s a small range but very competitively priced and some dealers will want to benefit from that,” he said. (Page 38). The subscription economy is gaining traction across all sectors – and is no longer the exclusive purview of the B2C sector. On page 28, PrintIT Reseller explores whether the ‘everything-asa-service’ economy is too big an opportunity to ignore. In other news, Exertis has joined existing partners Midwich and Ingram Micro to support Kyocera Document Solutions UK’s goal to double hardware revenue through the distribution channel over the next three years. Exertis appointment is the first change to Kyocera’s distribution line-up for more than 10 years. (page 39). Canon is also looking to expand and boost partner growth, something it aims to achieve with the launch of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE third generation platform – an extensive portfolio of 26 products and 7 series (page 24).
