One of the key things that came out during an interview with Phil Madders, Managing Director, PAE Business (page 20), was the fact that organisations are increasingly asking potential vendor partners to demonstrate their compliance and security accreditations. Altodigital recently achieved ISO 27001 accreditation. Only three of the top 20 dealers have this standard and Altodigital Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Mark Ash, says he believes it is irresponsible that so few office technology suppliers are demonstrating the necessary commitment to properly support businesses who recognise the clear and present danger posed by cyber-attacks (page 39).

Market consolidation continues apace, the latest in a long list of deals is the acquisition of United Carlton by DMC Canotec, a move that has effectively doubled the size of the business. PITR spoke to DMC Canotec CEO Simon Davey and United Carlton MD Warren Colby, about their plans to quadruple in size within five years.

Digital transformation is pervading every element of our lives both at home and at work and shows no signs of abating. With this in mind, PITR invited a panel of industry stalwarts to consider to what extent the DX economy is disrupting the print industry and whether they view it as a threat or an opportunity (page 42).

We’ve introduced a new feature this month. Phil Jones, Managing Director, Brother UK, is our first guest, on page 18, he picks the work tools he uses every day and couldn’t do his job without. This month’s Q&A is with Alastair Adams, Director, Commercial Group and PITR spent 60 seconds with Gary Tierney, UK&I Printing Director, HP.
