As restrictions are eased and thoughts turn to the workplace of the future, it looks like hybrid working is here to stay. For many businesses, making this work will rely on the wider adoption of cloud computing and accelerated digital transformation – two key trends we’ve seen throughout the pandemic.
Historically, print has trailed other infrastructure on the journey to the cloud, but it seems like the tide is changing. Quocirca’s Cloud Print Services Market Landscape Report 2021 found that adoption is accelerating as a result of the switch to hybrid working. Quocirca Director Louella Fernandes says that the growing focus on cloud print services is welcome news to OEMs and independent software vendors (page 20).
COVID-19 has also put employee well-being at the forefront of the business agenda, and according to NTT’s 2020 Intelligent Workplace Report, 86 per cent of businesses
will prioritise employee empowerment in their future workplace strategy. That’s the topic of this month’s Vox Pop; on page 52 some of the industry’s business leaders share their thoughts on the importance of prioritising employee experience and well-being, and the impact on employee engagement, retention and attraction.
In this issue, Pietro Renda, Chief Marketing Officer at MPS Monitor, picks the work tools he uses every day and couldn’t do his job without (page 18). This month’s Q&A is with Wayne Loon, Managing Director, Abbey Office Solutions, and PITR spent 60 seconds with Roger Stocker, CEO, Intuitive Business Intelligence.
