It’s probably a little bit too late to say Happy New Year, but as this is the first issue of 2021, I guess I can get away with it. Here’s hoping that with the door firmly shut on 2020 and the UK making good progress in terms of rolling out the vaccine, that 2021 will be a much brighter and successful year for all. It’s fair to say that many organisations will be looking to the future and that the channel is well positioned to support them to keep business moving in the new normal.
Security continues to top the corporate agenda and it’s unsurprising that Quocirca’s Print Security Landscape 2020 report reveals growing concerns over print security and a drop in confidence in the ability to protect the print infrastructure against security breaches. The study found that organisations are increasingly concerned about the potential for data breaches as a result of unsecure printing, with almost two thirds reporting a print-related data loss in the past six months.
74 per cent of close to 1,000 company directors said they would be keeping increased home working after coronavirus. Furthermore, more than half of directors polled by the IoD, said their organisation intended to reduce their long-term use of workplaces. This month’s VOX POP (page 42) explores what opportunities this presents for the print and IT channel and how can vendors help customers meet the needs of the new normal.
