The State of Office 365 back-up report from Barracuda Networks found that the worldwide shift to remote work during the pandemic has intensified the challenges associated with protecting Office 365 data. Nearly two-thirds (64%) of UK businesses are concerned about ransomware attacks facing its Microsoft Office 365 (O365) data.
Nearly half of UK-based organisations have already experienced a ransomware attack, and 55% know an organisation that has experienced a ransomware attack and struggled with recovery.
Seven in 10 respondents said that they are concerned about complying with data privacy requirements, suggesting that regulatory concern is as much of a motivator for cloud back-up solutions as security and accidental deletion. When asked about their attitudes to cloud back-up solutions, a majority of IT leaders expressed enthusiasm for a simple, all in one licensing solution (71%). 68% also would prefer a SaaS back-up for O365, so that there is no hardware to maintain. And 79% stated that being able to sign up and start running back up right away is an important factor to them.
